    • Tempest flicked her tail, "You're looking at the glass half full, to be in a healthy relationship you have to give as much as you get," she meowed, "My mother and father were deeply in love she used to tell us about him all the time and cats would attest to how much he loved her. It's not as simple as a feeling though, mother used to say she'd get so angry with Father at times, but she refused to let him go easily, love isn't just a feeling Reedspirit," she lowered her voice so no one would hear, "It's commitment to someone it's finding a partner you can be with forever. It's not that you won't have it, you just haven't found it yet. All those cats you listed were apprentices, they hardly know what they want just yet."

"As for your disability, you've done a lot of good for your clan, frankly I think you should've received your name long before the fire," Tempest meowed softly a sad look crossing her face at the mention of name. "You've earned it, don't doubt that,"

    • Reedspirit flicked his tail towards Stormpaw. "They obviously know what they want. He's cuddled up to her like a kit every time they're near." He turned to Tempest, taking a breath. "I'm scared, Tempest. I could die. And now I'm leaving the Clan. What if the cat I was looking for has always been here? And I die out there, alone?"

        Loading editor
    • "If you're scared about being alone..." Tempest hesitated "I could come with you. I can't fill what you're looking for, but I can at least help you find what you're looking for. My mother adopted you, so you're my brother now. My other brothers are happy, I want you to be too," she said her voice getting firmer, "So I'll go with you, I'll go with you and help you find whatever it is you're looking for,"

'And maybe I'll figure out where I really should belong,' Tempest thought.

        Loading editor
    • Reedspirit looked up, his blue eyes found with shock. "No, Tempest, you can't leave because of me! You've got a life here in the Syndicate, you can't want to give that up."

    • Tempest flicked her tail, "It won't be for good for me. I need. I need to step away from here, from the clans and think about where I truly belong. Being back with MarshClan cats has confused me, I don't know what I want, so I'll go with you to make sure you find what you're looking for and when the time is right I'll return,"

    • Shine stopped her gaping and ran over to Holly, finally. Dewfrost lay there. "Sorry, I got distracted. What shall I do?"

(Sorry I never saw it. Thanks to ember who directed me to this.)

    • "Oh, I don't know, let me think. . . Maybe help her?" Holly meowed, her eyes narrowed.

"Reedspirit." Reedspirit mumbled. "No, thanks. I can get my own prey."

"Oh, Fawnstar gave you a warrior name? That's nice." Riverfrost meowed, knowing that there was only one reason he might've recieved a name here, instead of waiting.

    • Frostpaw cast Shine and Holly annoyed looks as she helped with the kitting and pushed the kit over to the two she-cats. "Lick. Okay Dewfrost, the next one's coming. Push!"

Acorn was sitting at Holly's tail, watching the kitting with interest.

      Shell had gone into hiding.

      (How many is she having?)

    • Holly waved her tail. "Acorn, go back to the nest, dear." She meowed, licking the kit Frostpaw had placed at her paws.

Slate skipped up to Snowpaw. "Hi! What's your name? I'm Slate. Who's the big furball sitting next to you? Is he strong? He looks strong. Do you want to play?"

Reedspirit looked bewildered and looked at Tempest, his gaze confused. "Is she one of the Syndicate kits?"

      "Syndi-who?" Slate chirped.

    • "Aww, but I wanna watch," Acorn complained. "It's interesting."

Blaze shot the kit a thoughtful look before turning back to helping with the kitting - or trying to help, because Frostpaw was trying to do everything,

Snowpaw blinked at the kit, a bite of squirrel in her mouth. "Uh, I'm Snowpaw, this is Stormpaw, he's strong, and we're kind of in the middle of a meal right now. Maybe, uh, Ripple wants to play?" She vaguely remembered the heir to be very playful.

"Who's Ripple?" Slate meowed. "I don't know who anyone is. Or where I am. I just wandered in." She mewed brightly, her stubby tail waving.

Reedspirit strolled over, coughing. "I'm Reedspirit, and you are?" He asked the kit.

    • "Yeah. . . " Reedspirit meowed quietly, trailing off. I won't have too many tomorrows left with MarshClan. I should tell her. I should tell her I liked her. I should tell her I'm leaving. I should tell her Fawnstar made me a warrior because I might die. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I'm so stupid. I should just run out of here right now and never show my face again. He felt his face falling into a miserable frown, so he tried his best to smile.

"Congratulations, Dewfrost! Four healthy kits. You've done very well. Now if everyone except the queens and kits would please exit the den so Dewfrost can have some peace with her kits, that would be wonderful." Frostpaw meowed.

    • "Fine. I got my warrior name here instead of at home because there's a good chance I might make it home, alright?" Reedspirit meowed, his eyes stinging as he finally spoke the words he dreaded. "I'm never going to be a warrior. I can't even walk across the camp. I'm no use to MarshClan anymore." He lashed his tail, looking away. "Happy?"

        Loading editor
    • Snowpaw jerked to her paws, shocked. "Of course you're going to make it home! Who are you kidding Reed whatever your name is, you're very valuble to MarshClan, you're a warrior now, and you're going to go home. I'll make sure of it."

        Loading editor
    • "No, I'm not, Snowpaw." Reedspirit meowed, his tail flicking in agitation. "Do you know why Fawnstar gave me a warrior name? Because she pities me. She knows I can't be a warrior. She knows I probably won't live long enough to have a chance at life. She knows how much I wanted to be a warrior." He breathed heavily, his chest constricting. "I am not a warrior. I'm a sad and lonely apprentice with a warrior name, and that sad and lonely apprentice is never going to be able to do more than walk to the fresh-kill pile and back."

        Loading editor
    • "She gave you a warrior name because she's worried you'll give up and then you'll die," Snowpaw snapped. "You'll get better with time. Besides, there are more things to do in a Clan than hunting."

    • "It's been more than two moons, Snowpaw. It's not going to happen. I've had plenty of time. Even Rushingriver doesn't believe it anymore." Reedspirit replied sharply. "There are more things. Like hunting and fighting and having a family. And everybody can do that except for me. I don't need you to tell me things that I know aren't true. I've come to terms with it."

Blaze was taking a convienent walk on the beach when he heard Feather's cries and came racing over. "What's wrong? Oh... Molly, could you get her some wet moss, please?" he began frantically licking kit #1.

Pearl glowered at Azurite, then at Ripple grooming herself in the corner. The kit had grown up without her mother, yet because she was a heir the entire group adored her. If Pearl's parents and entire family had died, none of them would care. Just because they didn't have the luck to be born into Malo's family. Because she didn't have the luck.

    • Molly nodded, darting over to Cragstone Tower and scraping some moss off that was wet with some rainwater. "Here you go, Blaze." she meowed when she returned to the beach.

Fawnstar looked around and took a deep breath. "MarshClan!" She called. "It's time to leave. The Dusk Syndicate has been nothing but generous to us, sharing their precious prey, herbs and shelter, and we are grateful. But we have overstayed our welcome, and the time has come for us to return to our old territory and start anew." She mewed, pausing to take a breath. "If everyone is fit for traveling, we will leave by tomorrow. Say your goodbyes and prepare yourselves. If anyone needs help with their kits or isn't confident that they can walk that far, I will arrange for someone to help."

    • "Fawnstar? I have something very important. It's a life decision of mine." Duckpaw mewed. "You might want to get Malo here. It concerns his Clan."

Fawnkit nodded, a smile on her face.  "Could I have a story?"

Larkstorm nodded, and began his story.  "Once, long ago, MarshClan lived far away from the rest of the Clans.  Our territory was a marsh, full of prey and herbs.  We lived there happily for moons, until floods came and ravaged our territory.  We journeyed for moons, and it was a hard time for every cat involved.  We journeyed until we came here, and then we reached this territory.  It took a while for us to be accepted as a real Clan, and we're still working to gain our place amoung the Clans."

Fawnkit listened to the story in awe.

    • Reedspirit coughed, his pawsteps slowing, then continued on, not stopping until the camp was in sight. Slipping in, he retreated to the side of the camp.

Fawnstar looked at Stormpaw levelly. "We aren't leaving yet. Neither is he." Her eyes locked on Reedspirit. "Again, please be ready to leave by dawn."

Reedspirit's whiskers twitched hesitantly. This was quite possibly the last time he would see his Clan again.

    • "I will leave you to take this up with Malo." Fawnstar meowed. "If, for some reason, you find yourself without a home, you will be welcomed back." She twitched her tail. "But I am sure the Dusk Syndicate will be more than accepting."

Turning back, she looked around. "Is everyone fit to travel? Any kits too young or unable will be carried, and help will be offered for those who need it."

Dewflame looked up. Her apprentice, leaving MarshClan? She shook her head sadly.

Reedspirit blinked. "Thank you, Fawnstar." He murmured. He looked around for Tempest.

    • Frostpaw snorted. "Don't be stupid. Yes you are." She shoved a pile of herbs toward Reedspirit, just a little bit more than usual.

"Yeah!" Owlkit replied, taking Blackkit's other side. "Or maybe they'll come and visit! But they can't come and visit us here because we're not part of the Dusk Syndicate. So we have to go back to MarshClan."

I'm going to find my sister and make new friends and have a life that I don't completely hate before I inevitably kick the branch."

    • "Well, if it weren't for me and Rushingriver yelling at you all the time to eat your herbs, you'd be dead, because you've somehow decided you can't be saved even though you can!" Frostpaw shot back. "That sounds believable... if the old Reedpaw said it. Not you."

"There is peace for now," Mintfeather replied. "Besides, we need to be seperate. If we're attacked by outside or sickness, we need each other."

Find your purpose since the purpose you desired to serve in the clan seems lost," Rushingriver meowed, "That's what I assume at least, everyone around you looks at you and you feel they see you as broken.
