(I'm just gonna drop Burningstar here, and then have two legs find her and bring her to Twolegplace)
Burningstar struggled desperately against the eagle. The eagle shrieked one last time before releasing her Burningstar crying out as she twisted and fell. Before she hit a tree, the tree slowing the she cats fall though she bashed her head badly branches scraping at her before she hit the ground, losing her fourth life. But this time was different.
Birch had been walking aimlessly for hours, but they felt like ages. He was beginning to wonder if he could die from boredom when he stumbled across an unfortunate pile of ginger tabby fur sprawled at the base of a tree. Curious, he padded up to her and peered at her closely. "Hello? Are you alright? Cats don't usually fall asleep under trees, I don't think. . ."
Eos was scared. She hadn't brought back good prey in moons, and two of her kits had starved. The fire had raged through her den, destroying so many of her memories. The feathers of her first catch, the branch where she and her sister had recorded their hunting, a tuft of her mother's fur she treasured dearly. She could always rebuild the den, but the memories, the few scraps she had left of her family, were gone.
And her family was dead.
She had two things left; the beautiful stone that her sister had treasured and Astraea.
Astraea was the very picture of innocence, her wide eyes the spitting image of her sister's blue-green ones. She was completely oblivious to the evils of Viper and his terrible group, the murders that had been committed just outside this den twenty-two moons ago. Astraea was Eos's life, her sole light in the dark world she lived in.
Prey was even scarcer than ever before, and every day the fear of treading in Viper's territory closed in on her a bit more. Still, her memories kept her here. Home. Where she was born thirty-two moons ago. Where she had caught her first robin twenty-six moons ago. Where her brother had raced her twenty-four moons ago. Her memories were the only trace of her family that remained, and they were falling apart around her.
Eos picked up the scraps she had caught, a scrawny mouse and a vole, and began heading back toward her den. She had been hunting since sunrise and she hadn't managed to catch anything more than her two meager pieces of prey. Oh, what she would give for that robin she caught as a kit. She reached the den of memories, still charred for the fire, and stepped inside, dropping her catch in front of Astraea.
She picked up the vole and chewed it up for Astraea, feeding the little kit. Her milk was gone, probably because of the stress and starvation in this place. She gnawed on the mouse halfheartedly, drowning herself in the past. Her memories flooded through her mind, a bittersweet remembrance of what used to be.
Soot crossed the BlogClan border, panting. He climbed a tree and began to lick his wounds on one of the branches.
Cardinal staggered throug the woods, with no sense of purpose or direction. Eventually, the leaves disappeared and were replaced by hard stone under his paws. He collapsed, squinting from a harsh light coming from his right. He turned his head just in time to see the monster thundering toward him, then nothing.
(I need anyone with vipers group cats to tell me where to put their cats now, whether with a new group or just with "others" in or, or twolegplace or mountain cats. Telling me on the comments of allegiance page is best, but here or message wall works too.)
(Because they're only there to finish character plots and once the plots are done they're gonna fall apart but i might have Snow join Ragnarok's group when it's over so other cats might too
idk I need to talk with Frosty because I don't know who's gonna lead it and we might just keep it as Viper's Group so for now can you just put it as that? thanks
they're moving cause of fear of Viper (they don't know that he's dead) but they're still gonna be Barn Cats - I kinda want them to move back to the barn (heyyyy SU episode ooh I should make Peridot and Lapis barn cats I just realized best idea ever) but again I haven't talked with people yet and I was counting on the barn having been rebuilt by this point but Cloud said it was charboiled like when they left so I'll figure something out)
Hawk stared at his mother for a second, then ran off, and bumped into Selene.
"Aren't you supposed to be at the nursery?" the moonlight-silver cat hissed.
"But Ambrosia told me to catch some-"
Selene sighed. She knew that the ferocious leader's son was a cowardly wimp. She picked up a mouse from the fresh-kill pile, and gave it to him. "Give this to your mother, and don't tell her that I gave this to you," she whispered.
"But I can't lie!" he squeaked.
The large she-cat rolled her yellow-green eyes. "You'll only watch the prey you stalk. Now scram."
With the mouse in his jaws, Hawk went to the nursery.
Astraea gave a slight squeal of excitement when she saw the food, gulping it down with her tiny mouth. Her golden kit-fluff shimmered in the dappled sunlight, giving the illusion that the kit was sprinkled with a thousand tiny stars.
Eos gazed at her kit lovingly, but a tinge of sadness showed throug her eyes. A straea looked so much like her sister... The kit was Eos's world now, along with the few shreds of memory she clung to dearly. The prey got scarcer and the threats more dangerous, but she would protect Astreaea.
(So Wave, there's a giant plot going to happen with the Ragnarosia family and Selene. At one point, yes, the group will disband, but not for weeks/months. Star will have to find somewhere to go I guess. Cats can still join but not much will happen with them, so Snow doesn't /have/ to come but he can. :)"
Eos stepped outside for a moment to gaze up at the sky. It was endless, just like the lands beyond her den, but her memories held her back. She knew that there was somewhere else for her, somewhere safer for Astraea, but how could she leave? Her mind whirled with these thoughts until she finally came up with a decision.
She had to leave.
Astraea was just barely making it by, and her memories had been burned to the ground in the fire. She would take the stone with her and find a group. Not a hostile one, like Viper's group. A nice, peaceful group that would take her and Astraea in. She would travel away from Viper and his evil cats and return to safey.
The only problem was that she couldn't work up the courage to do it.
Eos's head began to ache, both from all the thinking she was doing and the sickness that had been plaguing since she was a kit. It was never life-threatening, but she often itched all over and coughed a lot. She padded back into her den, breathing heavily, and curled up in her nest.
Astraea padded up to Eos on her tiny legs, pressing her muzzle against her mother's fur. She knew her mother was sad, and she wished she could comfort her, but nothing ever worked. She curled up next to the larger she-cat and fell asleep.
Eos purred weakly as Astraea curled up next to her belly. A flood of motivation came onto her, and she knew that Astraea's safety was all she cared for. But for then, she needed rest.
Rosemary watched the moon rise in the sky. I should really rest somewhere..., she thought, looking around the land. She was tired, and only had so much energy left. She found a bush sage plant on the hill she'd been climbing, and smelled it to make sure nobody had been there first. She didn't smell any cat, and decided to curl up under the plant, deciding to make a proper nest when she found a place to stay forever. This was just a temporary home.
"Yeah...," Shrew smiled fondly at the little bundles of fur pressed against Spera. "I just... I wish they could've been born in the barn... prey was plentiful, they'd be safe... if only it wasn't for that stupid fire," he hissed, sighing. "Eh, nothing I can do about it."
Dewey rolled off, squeaking. She slowly blinked, looking around. Everything looked blurry. She saw a big shape that she recognized as her mother because of the milk scent, and her siblings next to her. She squeaked, backing away and tripping over Spera's tail, flipping over onto her back.
Eos stirred from her rest, slowly opening her eyes and fully falling into the waking world. Her dreams had been tauntingly good, where her littermates and parents had walked down from the sky and lived with her once more. Viper was dead, prey returned, and everything was good.
But this world was not dreams.
They taunted her, filling her head with what could have been. She had nothing left, for everything had been consumed by the flames that had raged through the forest nearly six moons ago. Nothing except for her sister's stone and Astraea.
She immediately remembered the pact she had made with herself. She would leave this place and settle down with a group. Somewhere safe for Astraea.
