The two scampered, the night sky's stars flickering out like dying candles. Dark clouds streaked the sky like greyscale paint covering a canvas.

"We've got to go. It's not safe. Nothing's safe." one whispered.

"But the others. We have to save them!" the other begged.

"It's too late now. I hope that our leader got them out in time." the first solemnly declared.

"It's NOT, Driftingcreek!" the second howled, their tone angry, piercing the ominous silence of the growing darkness of dying stars.

"What's behind this?" Driftingcreek demanded to no cat in particular.

"I don't know, Driftingcreek. But I know it's not too late. It's never too late." the second answered, irritated. The eerie, inky-black clouds covered more and more of the once-bright sky as stars faded away. The two cats could come to a conclusion- this was no ordinary night. Few stars remained... was this...

"No." Driftingcreek whispered. "StarClan can't fall to the Place of No Stars, not when we need them the most."

"Try to be hopeful, Driftingcreek. Grey skies are gonna clear up." the other optimisitcally mewed.

"Oh, my dear Grassember." Driftingcreek whispered. "Did I ever tell you how much I-" She sighed. "I love you?"

"Driftingcreek..." Grassember began, hope glinting in her eyes, even as hopeless shadows- Dark Forest cats- made more stars- their ancestors, StarClan- fade forever. "I love you too."

The two she-cats watched as the stars began to fight back, those thought gone for good rising up and fighting back the darkness.

"Maybe everything is okay." Driftingcreek meowed.

"Take out the maybe." Grassember added. "Everything is okay, my dear, everything is okay with you. We will never need to watch the stars fade, for deep down, they are strong."

"Just like us." Driftingcreek added, Grassember nodding.

The two lovers walked side-by-side back to RiverClan camp, hoping, no, not hoping anymore, knowing that Bronzestar made sure everyone was okay.
